Training the Trainers
Training the Trainers, a component of the Family Wellness Warriors Initiative, provides workshops for those who have participated in a minimum of two Beauty for Ashes or *Arrigah House conferences.
Key concepts of Beauty for Ashes are presented in Training the Trainers. Participants process the information in small groups to gain a deeper understanding of how the concepts are lived out in their own lives.
This workshop is designed to train individuals on how to lead small groups in their home communities. Many participants who complete this workshop continue to serve as small group leaders or presenters at future conferences.
This training builds effective communication skills, specifically addressing issues of domestic violence, abuse and neglect. Individuals experience personal growth that ripples into all fields of work, ultimately increasing positive relationships and communication skills.
Topics offered include:
- The Four Stages of Group
- Circle Dynamics
- Obstacles in Group
- Presentation and Story Development
Program Overview
The course for Training the Trainers includes three workshop sessions. The knowledge and tools provided prepare participants to present the Family Wellness Warriors Initiative curriculum and/or to serve as group leaders in their home communities and at future events.
Workshop sessions one and two focus on stages of group, obstacles of group and co leading opportunities. Session three allows participants an opportunity to practice presenting one of the 12 Journey Guide teaching topics to others in the group. This ‘teach-back’ helps participants better understand the topics, while relating a topic to their own story.
