Grace for the Wounded
The Grace for the Wounded Family Wellness Warriors Initiative workshop introduces the nature and content of the more extensive Beauty for Ashes training.
This one-day workshop is hosted by churches or community centers in partnership with Family Wellness Warriors Initiative, and funding is provided.
Centers, churches or agencies throughout Alaska may request this workshop to help address domestic violence, abuse or neglect issues within their community.
Sessions include topics such as:
- How does bringing a story to light reduce shame?
- How does abuse damage our relationships?
- Is recovery a process that involves our community?
- How do we get in touch with our story?
Program Overview
Participants experience what a safe place looks and feels like through the model group.
This training builds effective communication skills, specifically addressing issues of domestic violence, abuse and neglect.
Individuals experience personal growth that ripples into all fields of work, ultimately increasing positive relationships and communication skills.
